It was a cool, crisp star filled Saturday night in December. A night not to be forgotten. I had over 90 people converge upon my home in celebration of my landmark Bleep Bleep birthday and my Dad's even Bleepier birthday. (Ages have been withheld to protect the young at heart). A great time was had by all. We were so busy having fun with our guests that we had no time to open any gifts nor were we expecting any. That Sunday afternoon My dad and I opened countless gift bags and cards, reading them aloud and then placing them on the counter for display. The following morning once the last relative left for the airport came the daunting task of cleaning up and getting the house back together. Out of the 70 cards received,I kept 5 cards (4 music cards and 1 hand made card from cousin Jules) all of which eventually ended up in a lonely junk drawer.
I felt guilty about throwing out the cards and wished that there was some way that I could pay them forward. Weeks and months had passed when I stumbled upon the cards again and a light bulb went off in my head; Re-recordable plush toys and a website loaded with musical greetings where you can record and customize them at the same time .Hence WebRappers was born. Imagine a reusable greeting toy. A toy that you can laugh at, play with and then reload with another greeting, and also pay it forward to the next special person in your life . What better gift I thought than the "Gift of Gab" little plush toys that celebrate all that is good about life. I added some Velcro so they can Wrap around a gift. The toy can be the gift or you can wrap it around something as simple as baby powder for a new baby, apples for your favorite teacher, health bar for your trainer or a diamond ring for a wedding proposal. The possibilities are endless!
Next came the task of creating the characters. God bless friends and networking. I came upon a talented artist named Victor who could take my ideas and concepts and put them to paper. My requirements were simple; to create a group of adorable and happy characters for all ages that are sure to put a smile on anybody's face. One by one the names came to me and the characters were created and born.
With the characters in process came the task of finding talented singers/songwriters. The talent search began during a visit to my dentist office. God bless Rosa the worlds best tooth artist as she turned me on to a rapper friend of hers and the journey began. Being new to rap, I really enjoyed learning the lingo and working with Sean. He is a veritable wizard of words. What a talented and creative artist. Thanks to Sean, I have a new found respect for Rap and Hip Hop. I then decided to call upon an old musician friend from the 70's only to find out Paul is now a comedian living in New Jersey. Perfect I thought to myself. Paul was as funny as quick witted as ever and willing to join our group. I continued to look for talent at my church where I stumbled upon a fabulous Opera singer named Wendy. Wow !! She took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes with her angelic voice. Bravo I shouted when her performance ended and the networking continued.
On to one of my favorite Italian restaurants and there was my friend Franco rehearsing his songs for and upcoming performance. He loved the idea and joined our group. I then remembered my buddy Darrell who played at another fun place in town. He too loved the idea tuned out a few snippets and then turned me onto his daughter in Atlanta, a fabulous young lady named Felice and her husband with ties to gospel that will fill your soul with joy. And the Beat goes on!
I packed up my toys and new recordings and set up our WebRappers booth at Toy Fair 2010 in New York at the Jacob Javits Center where they were well received. The headlines read as follows:

WebRappers are cross generational too! From babies to Boomers, Generations X, Y and Z it's all good. We don't want to leave anybody out of our audience.
